Overview
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, opened in 2010, is the world's first Ferrari-branded theme park and the largest indoor theme park on earth, housed under a massive red roof spanning 200,000 m² and featuring the iconic Ferrari logo. Home to Formula Rossa -- the world's fastest roller coaster reaching 240 km/h in just 4.9 seconds -- the park offers 44 rides and attractions celebrating Ferrari's racing heritage, Italian culture, and automotive innovation.
Located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the park draws thrill-seekers and families alike with experiences ranging from gentle rides for young children to extreme racing simulators. The park sits alongside Warner Bros. World and Yas Waterworld, making the island a full-day entertainment destination. Visitors exploring Abu Dhabi can pair Ferrari World with a morning at the Louvre Abu Dhabi or an evening visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
Events Schedule
Formula Rossa headlines as the world's fastest roller coaster, launching riders from 0 to 240 km/h in 4.9 seconds (goggles required). Flying Aces holds the record for the world's highest roller coaster loop at 52 metres. The Scuderia Challenge puts visitors behind the wheel of racing simulators using genuine Ferrari F1 motion technology.
Turbo Track launches passengers 64 metres up through the roof with a zero-gravity fall. Junior GT offers a kids' driving school for ages 3-8, teaching basic track skills in miniature cars. The factory tour area explains how Ferrari cars are designed and manufactured. The official Ferrari Store carries merchandise, driving gear, and collectibles.
Seating Guide
For the best experience, head to Formula Rossa immediately at park opening, as it draws the longest queues throughout the day. After Formula Rossa, move to Flying Aces and Turbo Track before the midday rush builds. Save the simulator experiences and indoor attractions for the afternoon when outdoor ride queues peak.
Check height and age requirements before visiting with young children -- many headline rides require a minimum of 130-140 cm. The Premium fast-track pass pays for itself on busy days by cutting wait times from over an hour to under 10 minutes. Consider combining with Warner Bros. World and Yas Waterworld on Yas Island for a multi-day entertainment package.
When to Visit
Hours: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM daily, with extended hours to 9-10 PM during peak season and UAE national holidays. The best time to visit is on weekday afternoons between 2-5 PM, when crowds are noticeably thinner.
Avoid weekend evenings and public holidays, when wait times can exceed an hour for popular rides. Formula Rossa may close temporarily during high winds due to its outdoor track section. Plan 4-6 hours to experience the major rides without feeling rushed.
Admission and Costs
General admission runs AED 345 (~$94) for adults and AED 285 (~$78) for children under 1.3m tall. The Premium pass at AED 495 (~$135) provides unlimited fast-track access to all rides, a worthwhile investment on busy days when regular queues stretch past 60 minutes. An annual pass at AED 995 (~$271) covers unlimited visits for one year.
Yas Island multi-park bundles start at AED 500+ and combine two or three parks. Food and drinks are not included in admission -- Italian-themed restaurants and cafes operate inside the park.
Tips for Visitors
Head to Formula Rossa first -- it is the most popular ride and queues build quickly after opening. Many rides require riders to be 130-140 cm or taller, so check requirements before visiting with young kids to avoid disappointment.
The park is mostly air-conditioned indoors, but some rides pass through outdoor sections where summer heat can be intense. Wear comfortable, secure shoes suitable for active rides. The Premium pass is worth the upgrade on busy days when regular lines exceed 60+ minutes. Bring a camera, as photography is permitted on most rides and attractions.
