Overview
Opened in 2004 at the southern end of Durban's Golden Mile, uShaka Marine World is built around five replica shipwrecks that house one of the world's largest aquarium complexes. The Sea World aquarium contains 32 tanks displaying over 10,000 marine creatures, including ragged-tooth sharks cruising through a massive open ocean tank. Beyond the aquariums, the complex includes Wet 'n Wild water slides, a dolphin stadium, a village of shops and restaurants, and Dangerous Creatures, a separate reptile and arachnid exhibit.
Events Schedule
Open ocean tank -- Walk through an underwater tunnel as sharks, rays, and turtles glide overhead. Dolphin and seal shows -- Educational displays in a purpose-built outdoor stadium. Shipwreck architecture -- The aquarium's five replica wrecks are attractions in themselves. Wet 'n Wild -- Water slides and a lazy river for cooling off after the aquarium.
